Jane Shriffer is an abstract artist based in Wanaka.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, (majoring in painting),  from the Otago Polytechnic School of Fine Art, Jane spent time travelling and living overseas.  On returning to New Zealand, she was immersed back into the art scene as the manager of a Wanaka contemporray art gallery.

Jane now paints part time from her Wanaka studio where her paintings are created 'in the moment' or from sheer intuition, response and presence.  The canvas is very literally filled with layers of lush and beautiful colour with texture clearly visible due to her use of both brush and palette knife.
